I have painted all my life. My earlier memories are of me copying a David Shepherd print of elephants that were hung in my parents living room.
I sold my first oil painting at an open exhibition at the age of 14. I was thrilled to receive a £10 note, and the thought that someone enjoyed the painting so much they would pay for it! I continued to paint for exhibitions and completed plenty of commissions. I spent 20 years working as a Graphic Designer whilst painting as a hobby, again working for exhibitions and commissions.
In 2005 I decided to move my love of painting from a hobby to a full time occupation as well as teaching. I now teach over 90 students per week on a regular basis. The classes are ‘Leisure’ based and are predominately
Watercolour classes, with the occasional oil, acrylic, pastel & pencil class thrown in.
Overall, I love the teaching. I love seeing people progress with their painting.
I have also run several successful and well attended one day and two day ‘outside’ workshops. These have been run at different locations within the North West such as Tatton Park, Arley Hall &Gardens and Bluebell Cottage Gardens. I also run painting holidays to locations such as St Ives Cornwall, and to Anglesey.
All of these courses are designed for the beginner or the intermediates who want to stretch themselves a little more.
The courses are mainly Watercolours and are tutored including demonstrations by myself.
